This policy explains what happens to information when you use destinymatrixcompatibility.com. We have tried to write it in plain language rather than the usual wall of legal text, because a privacy policy nobody can read is not much of a policy.
Throughout this document, “we”, “us” and “the site” mean the operator of destinymatrixcompatibility.com. “You” means anyone visiting the site.
The short version
Your birth dates never leave your device. The compatibility calculator runs entirely in your browser, so the dates you type are never sent to us, never stored on our servers, and never logged anywhere. We could not retrieve them if we wanted to.
We do collect some ordinary technical information about visits, and we serve advertising through Google, which uses cookies. Those two things are explained in full below.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not have accounts, so there is nothing to sign up for and no password to lose.
What the calculator does with your birth dates
When you enter two birth dates and press calculate, the arithmetic happens in JavaScript running inside your own browser. Nothing is transmitted to us at any point in that process.
This means:
- The dates are not stored in any database
- They are not written to server logs
- They are not shared with any third party
- They disappear when you close or refresh the page
If you download your chart as an image, that file is generated in your browser and saved directly to your device. We never see it.
We mention this first because it is the question most people actually care about, and because it is genuinely unusual — many similar sites transmit birth data to a server to generate results. Ours does not.

Automatically collected technical data
Like almost every website, our hosting provider and analytics tools record standard technical information when a page loads:
- IP address (often truncated or anonymised, depending on the tool)
- Browser type and version
- Operating system and device type
- Approximate location, usually at country or city level
- The page you visited and the page you arrived from
- Date, time and duration of the visit
This is used to understand which pages are useful, to detect abuse, and to keep the site working. It is not used to identify you personally, and we make no attempt to link it to a real-world identity.
Information you choose to send us
If you email us or use a contact form, we receive whatever you write, along with your email address. We keep that correspondence for as long as it takes to deal with your message and a reasonable period afterwards, then delete it. We do not add contact-form addresses to a mailing list.
What we never collect
We do not ask for and do not want: your full name, your postal address, your phone number, payment details, government identification, or any of the special categories of data such as health information, religious belief or sexual orientation. If you send us any of that unprompted, we will delete it.
Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small text files that a site or its partners place on your device. We use them in three ways.
Necessary cookies keep the site functioning — remembering your cookie preferences, for example, or protecting against automated abuse. These cannot meaningfully be switched off without breaking the site.
Analytics cookies help us understand how the site is used in aggregate: which pages are read, how people arrive, where they leave. We use Google Analytics for this.
Advertising cookies are set by Google and its advertising partners to serve and measure ads. More on this in the next section.
Our cookie consent banner lets you accept or reject the non-necessary categories, and you can change your choice at any time using the link in the footer. You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings, though blocking everything may affect how some pages behave.

Advertising
This site is free to use and is funded by advertising. We do not charge for readings, we do not sell a premium tier, and we do not put any part of the interpretation behind an email wall. Ads are what make that possible.
We serve advertising through Google AdSense. Some things worth knowing:
- Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on this site.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google’s Ads Settings.
- You can opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info.
- Third-party vendors and ad networks may also serve ads on this site and may use their own cookies. We do not control those cookies.
Google’s own handling of data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy, which we would encourage you to read if advertising data matters to you.
If you are in a region covered by consent requirements, our banner will ask before any advertising cookies are set.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to see how the site performs in aggregate — which guides get read, which do not, whether the calculator works on a given browser. It tells us that a thousand people read the karmic tail section; it does not tell us who they were.
You can prevent Google Analytics from collecting your data using Google’s browser opt-out add-on.
Third parties we rely on
Running a site involves other companies. The ones that touch data in any way are:

We are not paid by any of these companies to feature them, and none of them receive your birth dates, because your birth dates never leave your browser.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have legal rights over your personal information. In broad terms these include the right to know what we hold, to get a copy of it, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to certain processing, and to complain to a regulator.
If you are in the UK or EU, the UK GDPR and EU GDPR give you these rights. Our lawful bases for processing are consent (for analytics and advertising cookies) and legitimate interests (for security and basic site operation). You may lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.
If you are in California, the CCPA and CPRA give you rights to know, delete, correct and opt out of any “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We do not sell personal information in the ordinary meaning of the word. Depending on how the law is read, the use of advertising cookies may count as “sharing” — if you would rather it did not, reject advertising cookies in our banner, and that setting will be respected.
Practically speaking, because we do not run accounts and do not store your birth dates, there is usually very little for us to hand over or delete. Most requests we receive can be answered in a sentence. Contact us at [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days.
Children
This site is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email [email protected] and we will delete it.
Readings on this site discuss adult relationships and are written for an adult audience.
Data retention and security
Server logs are retained by our hosting provider for a limited period and then rotated out. Analytics data is retained according to the settings in our Google Analytics account. Email correspondence is deleted once it is no longer needed.
The site is served over HTTPS. We take reasonable technical measures to protect the little data we hold, but no internet transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
International transfers
Our service providers, including Google, may process data on servers outside your country, including in the United States. Where required, those transfers rely on the safeguards those providers have put in place, such as standard contractual clauses.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the site handles data, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Significant changes will be flagged on the site itself rather than made quietly.
